About Me
Carnival Cruise 2015
Dining in the Empire Room, located at the rear of the ship. The food and service were very good.
Ruby, Charli and Matilda. We shared a table with another family from Sydney.
Cooking demonstration – cream of mushroom soup. The soup tasted very nice but I would have preferred a lobster thermidor demonstration.
Towel origami. The cleaning staff would make a different animal every day. Then they tried to sell the origami book at the end of the cruise.
Isle of Pines
Damage from cyclone Pam earlier in the year can still be seen along the shore.
Kuto bay and beach
Kiddies, don’t try this stunt as the rocks are very sharp. With careful timing, I did manage to get off the rock safely.
Kuto beach
Kanumera Bay – Isle of Pines
Carved totems
On board the speed boat for our Turtle Bay and Brush Island excursion. One needs to book the island excursions as soon as you board the ship as there are limited spaces for each excursion.
I felt quite sorry for the turtle
Brush Island, Isle of Pines. Who needs lobster when you can get a can of Pringles for $6
Although she looks the part I don’t think Charli actually dived into the water as it was a tad cold.
The end of our excursion. Time to head back to the ship.
Shuttle boats take you back to the cruise ship.
Lifou Island viewed from our balcony with the old missionary chapel perched on a cliff high above the sea
Vanilla House excursion
The beach at Lifou Island
The Chapel of Our Lady of Lourdes was built in 1898 by Catholic missionaries who landed in Lifou in 1858
View from the top of the hill
We arrive at the port of Noumea, the capital of New Caledonia
Plage de la Baie des Citrons (Lemon Beach)
Matilda & I swam out to the pontoon and saw a starfish on the way
Lagoon Aquarium
Aquarium des Lagons Nouvelle Caledonie
Prehistoric shark teeth
Yejele beach at Mare. Maré Island or Nengone is the second-largest of the Loyalty Islands, in the archipelago of New Caledonia, an overseas territory of France in the Pacific Ocean.
Underwater selfie
A great place for snorkeling
Yejele beach at Mare – watch out for the little soldier crabs
When too many desserts is barely enough!!
Fun times at the waterpark on the ship
Our last meal on the ship, breakfast before disembarking
