8 week trip to the United States and Canada visiting Los Angeles, San Diego, Phoenix, Grand Canyon, Las Vegas, Bass Lake, Yosemite, San Franciso, Vancouver, Jasper, Banff, Calgary, Seattle, Niagara Falls, Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, Quebec, Boston, New York, Washington, New Orleans.
After a brief stopover in New Zealand to visit friends, I flew to Los Angeles and embarked on a two week west coast tour of the United States with Contiki. I know… there goes my travel reputation. However, it has to be said that it was a fantastic trip. And yes… there were lots of women on the trip. After the tour I flew up to Vancouver and toured the Canadian Rockies. Then I flew over to Buffalo and drove around the eastern states of Canada and the USA. A quick stopover at New Orleans before heading back to Sydney via Hawaii. No trip report for this one, just some inferior quality photos taken with an old Ricoh camera and scanned from the photo album.

- Became addicted to Harvey Wallbanger cocktails.
- Swam in Bass Lake.
- Enjoyed a hike and picnic in Yosemite National Park.
- Walked inside a huge Mariposa tree.
- Escaped from Alcatraz, San Francisco.
- Walked down Lombard Street (8 hairpin turns) and rode on cable cars.
- Walked amongst giant redwood trees in Muir Woods.
- Drove a Ford Mustang in San Francisco
- Rode on Space Mountain, Disneyland.
- Drove Grand Prix racing cars, Los Angeles.
- Listened to an Orchestra practicing at the Hollywood Bowl.
- Walked all over Michael Jackson, Hollywood Boulevard.
- Had a close encounter with “Jaws” at Universal Studios.
- Took the cable car up Grouse Mountain, Vancouver, Canada.
- Had Devonshire Tea on Victoria Island, Vancouver.
- Cruised on Maligne Lake, Jasper National Park.
- Danced on a frozen lake, Mt Edith Cavell, Jasper.
- Visited Athabasca Glacier, Jasper.
- Enjoyed cocktails at Chateau Lake Louise hotel, Banff National Park.
- Survived snow storm on top of Sulphur Mountain, Banff.
- Drank cocktails at Banff Springs hotel.
- Bathed in hot springs while it was snowing, Banff.
- Cocktails in the bar of the Space Needle, Seattle.
- Viewed Niagara and American falls.
- City views from the CN Tower, Toronto.
- Consumed an entree of snails in Montreal cafe.
- Experienced gorgeous autumn leaves during fall in New England.
- Boarded the USS Constitution, Boston
- Had a beer in Bull & Finch bar (Cheers TV show), Boston.
- Viewed New York skyline from the top of the Empire State and World Trade Centre buildings.
- Rode the New York subways and walked through Central Park.
- Toured the Capitol building, Washington.
- Saw the Magna Carta and Declaration of Independence.
- Visited FBI headquarters.
- Saw the Apollo 11 landing module.
- Saw the original model of the USS Enterprise used in filming Star Trek.
- Enjoyed Dixieland beer and Jazz, New Orleans.
- Night cruise and dancing with Contiki girls, Mississippi river.
- Visited Santa Monica beach, Los Angeles.
- Swam at Waikiki beach, Honolulu.
